I know I know. It is now a general ASSUMPTION that GFE equals sex, even though nowhere is it written in the law that GFE equals sex. What’s next? If I offer $200 an hour for making you a grilled cheese sandwhich, is it automatically going to be assumed that “making a grilled cheese sandwhich” is synonymous with sex? What if I offer a game of Monopoly (because we all know that can take over an hour to complete a game) for $200? Is Monopoly going to be synonymous with sex? I don’t care if everyone just assumes something. Assuming something does not make it illegal people! A GFE (girlfriend experience) can also mean nothing more than cuddling fully clothed while watching a chick flick, sipping some wine, and making a guy take the trash out on his way out the door. Oh sure you say… why would some guy pay $200 an hour for that you ask? Because THEY CAN. Why would I charge $200 an hour for that? Because I CAN.

(a) A person commits an offense if he knowingly: (1) offers to engage, agrees to engage, or engages in sexual conduct for a fee; or (2) solicits another in a public place to engage with him in sexual conduct for hire. (b) An offense is established under Subsection (a)(1) whether the actor is to receive or pay a fee. An offense is established under Subsection (a)(2) whether the actor solicits a person to hire him or offers to hire the person solicited. (c) An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor, unless the actor has previously been convicted one or two times of an offense under this section, in which event it is a Class A misdemeanor. If the actor has previously been convicted three or more times of an offense under this section, the offense is a state jail felony.
According to the Urban Dictionary:
When an escort offers a service more akin to a ‘real’ relationship rather than just sex. The escort may go with the payer to dinner / the movies etc and engage in conversation, kissing and so forth, before retiring for sex (as what might occur when dating).
Of course the second definition in the Urban Dictionary is this:
The true Girlfriend Experience is something a man askes for when he goes visits a prostitute and dosen’t want to use a condom.
Which is complete and utter bullshit as a definition for GFE because no prostitute worth a grain of salt is going to have sex without a condom. Therefore it stands to reason that the first definition CAN BE bullshit too (it’s an URBAN dictionary, not a LEGAL dictionary). This isn’t Miriam Webster here people (girlfriend experience has no results in mirriam-webster.com). The law does not define GFE as meaning sexual conduct. So what? Whether GFE is thought to mean sexual conduct or not doesn’t matter. There is not a written law that defines the term GFE with sexual conduct.
In other words, a woman who advertises GFE for sale is NOT breaking the law! Now if she advertised GFE with a sex act for sale, then yes – that’s against the law. So unless the police want to conduct a sting on every person who sells a service on BP for an hourly rate (including things like walking the dog, pet sitting, house sitting, etc) – they shouldn’t have a reason to just pick on the women who sell GFE. Profiling much?

Published : Sunday, 08 May 2011, 2:26 PM CDTTRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – Police responded to an online ad on Backpage.com for a female escort based inRound Rock and end up arresting Catherine Lorraine Gilbert, 30.
Gilbert is now facing misdemeanor prostitution charges.
Police said Gilbert placed the following ad on the website:

You will find me to be true elegance and class all wrapped up in a warm, sensual, heavenly body. I am often told I am a pleasure to be with because I am open-minded, easy going and live to love passionately and sincerely. If you are looking to spend some unforgettable time with a beautiful woman who is intelligent, articulate and sweet, then I am waiting for you.
A court affidavit shows that in exchange for $150 the woman was offering a light touch body rub and for $200 an hour a ‘super satisfying VIP session.’
Police said they called the number on the ad and Gilbert agreed to meet at a hotel near the intersection of I-35 and US Highway 290.
When Gilbert got to the hotel, police said they negotiated a price with her for what she referred to as GFE or the Girl Friend Experience.
Police only said this ‘experience’ did not include anal sex.
Once police negotiated an amount for sex, Gilbert was arrested, the court affidavit states.
Condoms, massage oil and lubricant were taken as evidence, police said.
Further investigation in Gilbert’s background showed she had previously been arrested in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana. Her convictions range from forgery and prostitution to larceny and drug possession.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve seen a lot of Law and Order…
“Police only said this ‘experience’ did not include anal sex.” If I were an overzealous persecutor, that line would be my focus. Kind of an admission by omission. That is, if GFE does not include anal sex, then it includes other kinds of sex. Other than not mentioning sex AT ALL during negotiations, not sure what the solution is.
I agree the urban dictionary needs to be more specific. GFE is usually associated with BBBJ, not BBFS.
While some indicate GFE is about cuddling, etc., most of the whining about GFE goes along the lines of, “She’s not GFE; she doesn’t offer BBBJ.” The next most popular whine is, “She’s not GFE; she doesn’t offer LFK or DFK.” I’ve never seen this, “She’s not GFE; she doesn’t cuddle.”
Along those lines, an overzealous persecutor can make the argument that in “the community,” GFE means at least BBBJ. Once a judge or jury connects that dot, it’s rough going for the defense.
Ya know… GFE also means government funded equipment (hmmm there is a joke in there somewhere). Perhaps I should advertise GFE for 200/hr and really mean that you can play on my government funded PS3 (because if I had a job working for the government it wouldn’t be a lie since my paycheck paid for it). OR my Government Funded stove where I cook Blue Berry Biscuits and Jelly 😀 Hell if I lived in HUD housing the bed is government funded equipment.
There shouldn’t be any such thing as admission by omission. If I omit something doesn’t mean I admit to it. That’s just word freaking games. I may omit to admitting I smoke pot… Well gee… that’s because I don’t smoke pot… hellooo…
I guess my point is: “GFE” is cool, but “GFE, not anal” can get you in trouble. Once sex entered into the conversation, trouble. Once you decriminalize (right word?) the hobby, ads and conversations can be more informative.

This is one of the reasons why ladies need to “not advertise” that they are GFE in their ads, or mention any sex activities period. LE will use this against them. I agree it is a bunch of BS, but they will use everything they can to their advantage when prosecuting. It doesn’t matter how absurd we think it is, or the fact that they could be pushing / stepping over civil rights.. they don’t care cause they are the law. This reminds me of one state that put out “no prostituting” signs on certain side walks and streets and then the police started arresting poor working women who were not prostitutes but said because they were walking where the signs were “they had to be a possible prostitute”. This really violates women’s rights, and to assume because a woman is simply walking in a known area or dresses a certain way, is not cause for arrest. For the life of me, I cannot remember what state that was.
